UG Programme
Who can apply?
The eligibility for admission in to the First Degree Programme (Under Graduate) is a pass in Higher Secondary Examination or an Examination accepted by the Academic Council as equivalent thereto.
How to apply
Any Candidate who desires to obtain admission for the First Degree Programme should compulsorily register online through the University Website www.admisssions.keralauniversity.ac.in irrespective of the Category (General/SEBC/BPL/SC/ST/Community Reservation of Lakshadweep/Jammu and Kashmir/Tamil Linguistic Minority/Inmates of Government Children’s Home/Reservation for Person with disabilities/Sports etc.) to which he/she belongs.
There are three stages in the submission of online application which are mandatory- Online Registration of name, date of birth and category
- Remitting the Registration Fee
- Online Registration of personal and academic data and registration of options for Programmes and Colleges.

MA English: BA English as Core course securing not less than 1.8 CGPA(S) out of 4 or Graduation in any programme in the faculties of Arts, Social science, oriental studies and fine arts securing not less than 2 CGPA out of 4 for English Language Courses (common Courses)/BA English & Communicative English/BA English Language and Literature under CBCS System. For Non-English degree holders, the maximum credits that can be earned in English Language Course should be at least 19 credits to acquire eligibility for admission. |
BA English as optional main subject securing not less than 45% in part III including subsidiaries or graduation in any subject in the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Oriental Studies and Fine Arts securing not less than 50% marks in Part I (Three papers under compulsory English/BA Communicative English(Vocational)/BA English Language and Literature and BA Communicative English (Restructured) For Non-English degree holders, the maximum marks that can be awarded in Part I should be at least of 300 marks to acquire eligibility for admission. |

How to apply
All candidates who wish to apply for PG programme (irrespective of Category) should strictly register online through the University Website www.admisssions.keralauniversity.ac.in.
After completion of the online registration, the candidate should take the print out of the same and forward it, with the copy of supporting documents and marklists (self-attested) to The Joint Registrar (in-charge of Online Admissions) , Ac.H Section, University of Kerala, Palayam, Trivandrum-695 034 by ordinary or speed post or in person, on or before the last date notified by the University.
Mode of Ranking
The rank list will be prepared by the University of Kerala based on the total marks/percentages of CGPA (converted by the formula provided by the respective University) obtained by the candidate out of 1000.M.A. English | M.A. English |
An additional weightage of 5 marks be given to all students from the University of Kerala. This mark shall be added to the mark secured for English Language Course or CGPA(S) as the case may be. In respect of BA degree holders in English language and Literature, the 5 marks will be added after adding the 5% of marks to CGPA(S) or English Language Course as specified in Para I. In case there is a tie, preference will be given in the following order. 1.CGPA (S) in English 2.CGPA English Language Course 3.CGPA for Additional Language Course 4.CGPA (S) for Non-English Graduates. |

The candidates will be ranked on the basis of the CGPA(S) plus the CGPA of the core ie A= {(CGPA (Core course) × 2 × Core course Credit) + (CGPA(Complementary course I) × Complementary Course I credit) + (CGPA (Complementary course II ) × complementary course II credit)}/ (Total Credit for core × 2 + Total Credit for complementary-I + Total credit for complementary-II) B = A*25 (* symbol for multiplication) B is then normalized to 1000) |
M.Sc. Programs The candidates will be ranked on the basis of total marks obtained for the optional subjects plus the marks obtained in the Optional Main subject. In the case of candidates who have qualified under three main systems the marks obtained in the three main plus the marks obtained in the main concerned will be used for ranking. |
