The Department of Botany and Biotechnology celebrated International Year of Pulses (IYP- 2016) as “PULSES 2016” in association with Science club of the college, with the sponsorship from Kerala State Council for Science and Technology (KSCSTE), Thiruvananthapuram. Dr Annie Ninan, Associate Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, Malappuram inaugurated the programme and delivered a key note address on “Nutritional Benefits of pulses” on 22/07/2016. |

An intercollegiate quiz competition on pulses was also organized as part of Pulses-2016 on 14/12/2016. Dr Asha Ramachandran was the Quiz master of the programme. |

A slide show on “Diversity of Pulses in India” was organised on 4/12/2016. Dr A. Sivaprasad led the programme with a Power Point presentation. |
