  • Association Inauguration &One day Workshop on VermicompostingThe Association inauguration for the academic year 2016-17 was done by Sri C. K. Venugopal, Asst. Director of Agriculture, SAGL, Kalarcode, Alappuzha on 30th September 2016. A workshop on Vermicomposting was also organized on the same day. The earthworm, Eudrillus Eugenia, is being cultured under controlled conditions for promoting composting activities in our college.

  • Orientation programmeThe first semester students of academic year 2016-17 were provided an Orientation programme on 13th August 2016 by Dr. Laly Jacob, former Head of the Department of Zoology.

  • Seminar on Birds and Bird watching

The Department organized a Seminar on Birds and  Bird watching on 13th January, 2016.Nishanth H.P., Research Scholar, Dept of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, Kariavattom and Al Badush A., Research Scholar, Dept. of Environmental Science, Kottayam providedknowledge on birds and their habitat to the students of the College.

  • Setting up of Aquarium in the Department

On 20th January 2016 the students installed four new aquarium tanks in the Department. This programme was designed  to develop their skills to work in a commercial aquarium, pet Industry, zoo, or marine conservation sector.
