IPR Cell in Bishop Moore College was established in 2022 by the Institution Innovation Council of Bishop Moore College for creating awareness among students, research scholars and faculty members about Intellectual Property Rights. The IPR Cell regularly conducts various activities such as seminars, workshops, guidance in patent filing, etc. Two Patents have been successfully filed and granted in the last four years.

Abstract:

Provided herein is a process of acetylating organic compounds via green chemical method wherein the process provides a simple and cost-effective process of acetylating with an acetylating mixture of acetic acid, sodium chloride and sulphuric acid which are simple, cheaper reagents and non-hazardous chemicals without direct use of acetic anhydride but only involving one-pot reaction leading to the in-situ production of acetic anhydride avoiding inhalation of its vapours and other hazardous effects and making the process more economical, environmental and eco-friendly.
