Additional Skills Aquisition Programme

ASAP 2018

The Department of English coordinated the fifth edition of the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), in from of three batches from May to July 2018, with resounding success. Over the period of three months, 90 trainees from across the length and the breadth of the State successfully participated in the residential training programme, hosted by the College and organized by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala. The College has been awarded the status of a five star training institute by the Government of Kerala. Dr. Nair Anup Chandrasekharan was the Course Director. The Master Trainers included Dr. Anne Angeline Abraham, Ms. Anusha Das, Ms. Leena Susan Koshy, Dr. Anej Somraj among others.

ASAP 2015

For the fourth consecutive year the Department of English coordinated tbe ASAP CET programme in the months of May, June and July 2016. The efforts of the ASAP team were rewarded when the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala upgraded Bishop Moore College, from the status of a four star training institute to the five star category. Thus the College became one of the few five star ASAP institutions in the State. In 2015 and 2016 the College conducted three batches each, which were attended by trainees from across the length and the breadth of the State.  Dr.Nair Anup Chandraekharan was the Course Director and Dr. Anne Angeline Abraham was the resource person while Ms. Anusha Das, Ms.Bhagyalakshmi Mohan, Ms.Neethu Mary Philip, Ms. Amitha, Ms.Merin, Ms. Jeena, Ms. Neema formed the core faculty team.


ASAP 2014

The ASAP Secretariat, Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala sanctioned, twenty one day residential training and recruitment Additional Skill Acquisition Programme(ASAP), was conducted at Bishop Moore College  from 30th May, 2014 to 19th June, 2014. This is the third twenty one day residential training and recruitment ASAP programme conducted by the College. The two previous ones were held in June/July 2013. Thirty prospective student trainers from across the State participated in the Programme. Besides the Coordinator, Dr. Nair Anup Chandrasekharan, Dr.Anne Angiline Abraham, Ms. Anusha Das, Mr.Ditto Prasad and Ms. Achitra C. trained the students for twenty one days.

The academic year 2014-15 also saw Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara being selected as an ‘ASAP Institution’ on the basis of the audit conducted at the college by the team from ASAP.  A letter to this effect was issued by Shri. George Thomas. K, Additional Secretary and Team Leader, ASAP Secretariat, Higher Education Department, Govt. of Kerala on 07/08/2014. Hence from November onwards, eligible first year students of the College would be trained in various skill courses.
